McKevitt Architects have been established in Drogheda since 1973. The practice was originally set up by Turlough McKevitt in partnership with Bernard O'Reilly, practicing under the title 'McKevitt O'Reilly'. Over the years the business name changed to 'T McKevitt Architect' and finally to 'McKevitt Architects' in 1997. The company directors are Turlough & James McKevitt. McKevitt Architects are very proud of their contribution to the built environment of Ireland's North East. With a very enthusiastic and experienced team, McKevitt Architects continue to provide the highest standard of service to an established and expanding client portfolio.
James is a graduate of DIT Bolton Street and having spent his childhood in McKevitt Architects, he joined the practice officially in 2004. James specialises in domestic projects, with particular experience in both urban renovation/extension and rural one-off houses. He is an active member of Boyne RFC.
Eoin is a graduate of DIT Bolton Street. A native of Drogheda, he worked in an architectural practice in New York before joining McKevitt Architects in 2016. Eoin brings a flair for design, combined with a level of detailed precision, to the office.
Suzanne is a graduate of the University of Edinburgh and she is accredited in conservation at Grade 3. A registered architect, Suzanne worked in practices in Dublin and Belfast before joining McKevitt Architects.
Richie joined McKevitt Architects in March 2018 in a part-time role to help with the website, social platforms and general marketing duties. Richie is also an experienced architectural photographer who has photographed buildings across Ireland for over 10 years. A familiar face around Drogheda, Richie can be found either behind the counter in Mahers Photographic on West Street or walking one of his 3 dogs in Monasterboice!
A Fellow of the RIAI, Turlough graduated from DIT Bolton Street in 1971. After gaining experience with Charles Ellison Architect in Dublin, he then moved to Drogheda. Turlough is accredited in conservation at Grade 3. A published author and exhibited artist, Turlough is also a keen hill-walker.
Tomás is a registered architect and graduate of DIT Bolton Street, and joins McKevitt Architects following a number of years working in Dublin. With a particular interest in sustainable and affordable construction, Tomás also brings a fresh design approach and enthusiasm to the team.
Jim joined McKevitt Architects in 1981. Since then his primary role has been as a Project Architect. Over the years Jim has been responsible for overseeing the contract administration and project supervision of the firm's largest and most prestigious projects including multiple AIB banks. He is a well-known musician and also a keen sports enthusiast, being a former chairman of Drogheda United FC.
Adrian is a Drogheda native, a qualified architectural technologist and a registered architect. He is an associate at McKevitt Architects. With years of experience, including stints with world-renowned Renzo Piano and Richard Rogers in Paris and London, he brings fresh knowledge and flair to the practice. He has gained a wealth of experience in dealing with a wide range of clients and projects with complex statutory approvals. His additional qualifications in Health & Safety and Fire Safety strengthen the growing reputation and resources of the firm.
Emma qualified from Waterford IT with an honours degree in architectural technology. She first joined McKevitt Architects as a student in 2007 and has been an integral part of the office ever since. With a strong technical knowledge and great attention to detail, Emma is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all planning applications in the practice.
Ciaran qualified from Edinburgh Napier University with an honours degree in architectural technology. He joined McKevitt Architects in 2018 after working in an architectural practice in Australia for the 8 years. With a strong technical knowledge and great attention to detail, Ciaran is responsible for overseeing and coordinating tender issue drawings within the practice.
Olive first joined the office in 2007, having previously worked in the building sector. With vast experience of financial and accounting procedures, she manages the accounts as well as the front of house. Olive has served as a member of the Board of Directors and a member of the Credit Committee of Drogheda Credit Union.
Dyanne is a registered architect, is accredited as PSDP and is an associate at McKevitt Architects. She gained her qualifications in architecture from Queen's University Belfast and University College Dublin. Originally working in the firm in 2001 as a student, she returned in a professional capacity after graduation. Through her years of experience with a broad range of clients and building projects, Dyanne has become an expert in Project Management, Contract Administration, Health & Safety and the Public Procurement Process.
Trevor gained his qualifications in architectural technology from DIT Bolton Street and he has Autodesk Revit Certification. Trevor first worked in McKevitt Architects as a student in 2005. Trevor has a comprehensive technical knowledge and is an expert in the fields of Fire Safety, Disability Access and building/land surveying.
Rita has been working with Turlough for over 30 years. A long standing and loyal employee she keeps a close eye on financial matters and is a cornerstone of the practice. Rita is also a very dedicated member of St. Mary's Parish and the Legion of Mary. Although the office is located in Louth, she never lets any of her colleagues forget about her Meath roots.
